Damascus to Antioch
From persecutor to apostle. Acts and Paul's own account in Galatians place him in Jerusalem, on the Damascus road, in Arabia, at Tarsus and at Antioch before the first journey.
Dating: W. M. Ramsay, St. Paul the Traveller and the Roman Citizen (1895); A. T. Robertson, Paul, the Apostle (1915). None of these years is stated in the Bible.
- 1 Jerusalem
- 2 Damascus
- 3 Arabia
- 4 Damascus
- 5 Jerusalem
- 6 Tarsus
- 7 Antioch in Syria
- 8 Jerusalem
- Places and passages: named in Acts and Paul's letters
- Dashed line: the way between stops is reconstructed. Scripture names the places, not the roads
- Proposed by scholars: the text does not say
- Later tradition: told by writers after the New Testament
- Years are scholars' dating; the Bible gives none
